Annual Meeting & Election

 

The Annual Meeting of Destinations Credit Union will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. – location to be determined. Join us for light refreshments, prizes and a look at the year in review, as well as the future plans of the Credit Union. The business meeting will begin promptly at 5:30. Watch for more details on our website.

Call for Nominations

As a member of the Credit Union, you are also an owner. You have the right to elect the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee is seeking interested and qualified members to serve on the Board. Three incumbent three-year terms will be open for the 2020 election.

The Nominating Committee requires a Director to be a member in good standing for at least 2 years and be 18 years or older with qualified experience. If any applicant is not nominated by the Nominating Committee as a candidate for the Board of Directors, the applicant may seek nomination by a petition signed by the membership. If you are interested, please download the application from our web site. The deadline for applications is Friday December 18, 2019. If there are more than four candidates for the open seats, a mail ballot will be sent to all qualified members. The election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on March 19.

Scholarship Opportunity for 2020!

Are you headed off to college or trade school in 2020? If so, Destinations Credit Union is pleased to announce our college scholarship to make it easier for you to meet tuition costs. The $12,000 Credit Union College Scholarship Program for 2020 is underway now! College-bound members are eligible to apply for one of ten $1,000 essay-based scholarships - one $1,000 video-based scholarship; and one $1,000 photo-based scholarship. And, yes, you may apply in all three categories!
 
Deadline for applications is March 31, 2020. Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2020.
 
This year’s essay topic:
"It's ten years in the future - the year 2030. Describe your vision of how you will manage your personal finances then. Include how you will pay for things, save, and borrow. Imagine how your credit union will help make that vision a reality"
 
This year’s video topic:
"It's ten years in the future - the year 2030. Create a 60-second video showing how you will manage your personal finances with your credit union as your financial services partner."
 
This year’s photo theme is:
“Innovation”
 
Any member of Destinations Credit Union entering their freshmen through senior year of college or trade school may apply. 
 
“We’re pleased to offer this opportunity for our young members,” said Brian Vittek, President/CEO of Destinations Credit Union “The awardees receive needed financial assistance to help them meet their tuition expenses and the application topics stimulate innovative and useful responses to help us better serve our college-aged members.”
